The Islamic State jihadist terror group has once again taken to social media to instill fear in the hearts of Israeli citizens. Instead, they gave Israelis a chuckle.
In a message written in Arabic and poorly translated in Hebrew, the message says that the recent change at the helm of Israel’s Ministry of Defense won’t be successful.
“Ho, you are Jews, the fearful: You have no security in our land,” reads the message of the organization which aims to control the Levant countries bordering the eastern Mediterranean Sea, namely Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Cyprus.
They said former Defense Minister Bogie Ya’alon was a “failure” in protecting Israel and that the new hardliner minister Avigdor Lieberman “will surely fail.”
Attached to the message are photos of both Ya’alon and Lieberman, as well as a wide photo of a bearded Chassidic rabbi addressing a class in school.
That rabbi is Rabbi Menachem M. Lieberman, Director of Chabad Lubavitch of Ashkelon, the Israeli city on the Mediterranean coast which is often the target of rockets from Gaza.
It seems like ISIS tech staff Google searched the words “Lieberman” and “Israel” and came up with the result of the rabbi, in addition to the minister.
Udi Ben David, a correspondent of the region’s Radio Darom, tweeted in response: “ISIS blundered again… Rabbi Lieberman, the Shliach of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Ashkelon, will surely not fail.”
“Thank G-d, he built many glorious institutions with more to come,” the broadcaster added.
Terrorism is about frightening us. Not being frightened is the best defense to terrorist tactics
Rav Lieberman is the most amazing Shliach. He literally built Ashkelon.
If I was the rabbi I would not be happy with you or the media in Israel’s identification of myself to ISIS.
