Thursday May 26th, Bais Bezalel enlivened the Pico/Robertson neighborhood, with a fun, lively, and spiritual Lag B’Omer event for children and adults alike.
All were welcome for an exciting night, Lag in The Lot. Starting at 6pm, families were welcomed into the lot, which was setup for a live performance from Moshav Band’s Yehuda Solomon and David Swirsky along with BMX Stunt Riders, who performed a thrilling 30 minute bike show, wowing the children.
In the spirit of Lag B’omer, in honor of the hillula of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, a few hundred people gathered together and enjoyed a night of Hakhel. MC, Stuart Flait, led the program, followed by Psukim, which Rabbi Zalmy Hecht called upon children to read.
Rabbi Levin, the spiritual leader of Bais Bezalel, inspired the crowd with meaningful words of Torah. Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin, head Shliach of Chabad of California gave a moving address as well! Children anxiously waited till the end of the night, where raffle prizes were given out to all participants; the grand prize winner received an aerial night flight over Los Angeles! BBQ hot dogs, cotton candy, face painting, balloons… what else could you ask for?
