It is a few months into the year, and already parents have expressed overwhelming satisfaction at the new staff, curricula, and atmosphere at Mesivta Lubavitch of Monsey.
Under the leadership of its new head, Rabbi Sender Lustig, the staff have implemented innovative learning methods and techniques, and have kept open lines of communication with parents.
The students have not only been able to excel academically, but have benefited from a warm, nurturing, Chassidishe atmosphere, according to the Mesivta.
“Our goal is to provide an environment in which our students are able to grow in every facet of their lives,” says Rabbi Lustig. “Our focus is as much on learning as it is for students to grow in following darchei haChassidus with the highest levels of yiras Shamayim, mentshlichkeit, and midos tovos. We also ensure their gashmiusdike needs are taken care of to the fullest, so they are free to focus on their studies.”
The new curricula are designed to lay a strong learning foundation and empower students to learn at a high level as they move on to Yeshivah in future. The skill-based system uses weekly challenging Gemara tests, monthly translation exams, meticulously prepared worksheets. By the end of the year, the students will have completed an entire seder of mishnayos, and have a booklet charting the various dinim and their application.
“Having to write down what we learned really helps me understand it better,” says Mendel, a Shiur Bais student. “I am much more confident now when I open up a sefer that I will be able to figure out what all the words mean.”
Following the success of its relaunch year, the Mesivta is opening registration for shiur Aleph, Beis and Gimmel. To ensure the utmost attention and care is offered to each student, registration will be limited.
