Rabbi Avraham Moshe Goldberg, a member of the Chabad community in the holy city of Tzfas in northern Israel who has served as a Shliach in Europe, passed away on Sunday, 12 Cheshvan 5777.
He was 72 and suffered from an illness.
Rabbi Goldberg was a Chabad Shliach for over 15 years in Haarlem, a city outside of Amsterdam in the northwest Netherlands. During his time there he also served as a chaplain in the Dutch prison system.
After moving to Israel, he devoted his time to learning Torah and chassidus with people of all backgrounds. His home in Tzfas was open for guests with many people spending Shabbos with his family.
He is survived by his wife Fruma “Frouke” Goldberg, children Devora Sara Chanuka – Israel; Yisroel Goldberg – Minnesota; Yonah Goldberg – Minnesota; Yossi Goldberg – Toronto, Canada; Dina Golan – Israel; Yehuda Goldberg – Israel; Motti Goldberg – Israel; and grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings Daniel Goldberg of Crown Heights and Carmel Krauss of Long Island, New York.
