Rabbi Sholom Duchman, Executive Director of the International Colel Chabad charity organization, will be the guest speaker of a Chof Daled Teves Farbrengen in The Shul of Bal Harbour in Florida on Tuesday.
The event on January 5, 8:00 PM, will be marking the yahrzeit of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schnuer Zalman of Liadi, the founder of Chabad-Lubavitch and author of the Tanya and Shulchan Aruch.
For the first time in a public forum, Rabbi Duchman will be sharing some of his most personal stories and directives he received from the Rebbe regarding Colel Chabad.
Rabbi Duchman was appointed by the Rebbe in 1978 to direct and expand the oldest operating charity in the Land of Israel which was established in 1788 by the Alter Rebbe to support the needy in Israel.
In the years that followed, the Rebbe was intricately involved in every detail of the expansion of Colel Chabad, both its activities in Israel and fundraising operations around the world.
With over 1,000 pages of correspondence, highlighting how important Colel Chabad was to the Rebbe, Rabbi Duchman plans on presenting some of the earlier directives he received, while still in his 20’s, which took Colel Chabad into the 21st century.
In his speech, which will be accompanied by copies of letters and answers he received, Rabbi Duchman will expand on how one can apply these timeless messages for, both, their personal and professional growth.
