Rabbi Yisroel Frishman, a resident of the Chabad neighborhood in Jerusalem, passed away on Tuesday, 9 Shevat, 5776.
He was 58 and passed away suddenly, in his sleep.
Rabbi Frishman was a madrich in the Toras Emes Yeshiva in Jerusalem for many years, beloved by all the students.
It was his job to wake the students in the morning for Mivkah and Chasidus, and gave each bochur in the Yeshiva personal attention and listened to their problems as if they were his own children.
He was a frequent Mivtzoim volunteer, and active in the Yad L’Achim organization.
For the past 15 years, he was a member of the Jerusalem Chevra Kadisha.
Known as an “Ish Chesed,” he always went out of his way to help others, “and he couldn’t bear to see anyone suffering,” a friend said.
Just the day before his passing, Rabbi Frishman celebrated the upshernish – third birthday celebration of his grandson, with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife and children.
The funeral took place in Jerusalem.
Baruch Dayan Haemes.
I believe his son Shloimi is sitting shiva in Crown Heights, does anyone have details?

This was a great Chosid and special man. A terrible loss.
So sad. Moshiach Now!
If the Tachlis is “down here below” why are there so many Neshomos r”l going up there?” Hashem WE DEMAND MOSHIACH NOW!!
I was in Toras Emes in 1986/88 and he was a fun dorm counselor. Who remembers him shouting “Sogrim! Sogrim!” at 7:10AM when he would lock the gates on each floor of the dorm and you’d be stuck in (and out) for the day (the gates are gone now…boy the stuff they got away with…;-)).
Rest in peace! You were a nice man and made many smile and laugh!
