1. In the Shluchim’s den
This young Jewish man didn’t expect for the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge to be brimming with enthusiastic Chabad Rabbis gathered there for their annual Kinus Hashluchim conference.
This man’s chances of walking out of the hotel without being asked “Are you Jewish” were zero to none. He was wise enough to say yes to the first rabbi who asked whether he was interested in putting on Tefillin…

2. Worthy tribute
The general session at the Kinus opened with a Dvar Torah presented by Rabbi Yossi Gordon, Shliach in Woodland Hills, California, about the weekly Parsha of Chayei Sarah.
It was an appropriate tribute to his beloved father Rabbi Yehoshua Binyamin (Josh) Gordon OBM, who taught thousands around the globe through the world’s most widely viewed daily Torah classes. He passed away this past year at 66.

Rabbi Naftali Rot is one of the most veteran Chabad officials in Jerusalem and is known for articulately emceeing hundreds of events over the years.
Today he is hard of hearing, but that doesn’t stop him from dispensing blessings to all who ask. As a Kohen, his reciting of “Yevarechecha” has special meaning and power.

4. Hearty hug
Businessman George Rohr has helped establish Chabad centers across college campuses in North America, as well as the revival of Jewish communal life in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
It was only natural that when he came to the Kinus for a discussion about cultivating donors, one of the Shluchim present wouldn’t hold back and give him a hearty hug. Thursday was Thanksgiving after all…
