Not that it will change his foreign relations policies, but American President Barack Obama has a half-brother who is Jewish.
Mark Okoth Obama Ndesandjo, a business consultant and an accomplished pianist, is one of eight sons of Barack Obama, Sr. who had 4 wives – two Kenyan-born women and two white American women.
The latter two were Ann Duham, the Christian mother of Barack Obama, and the Jewish mother of Mark Obama, Ruth Baker.
Tsvi Sadan reports on IsraelToday.co.il that Baker was born to a Jewish family that emigrated to the United States from Lithuania. She married Obama Sr. in 1964 and moved to Kenya. She divorced her husband after 7 years of abusive marriage.
The son, Mark, runs an internet marketing company WorldNexus and authored a memoir “Cultures: My Odyssey of Self-Discovery” in 2013. He lives in Shenzhen, China.
Speaking to Tzach Yoked of the Israeli newspaper Maariv last week, Mark Obama made it clear that although he is not religious and that he married a non-Jewish woman, he is proud of his Jewish identity.
He said his mother “always taught me to be proud of the fact that I am Jewish.” He added that “she is the woman who taught me what’s important in life, who helped me to understand Torah, taught me music, helped me with my studies.”
It would seem that Mark adores Barack, even though, as he claims, the president has failed to be in touch with his brother for several months now, Sadan reported.

You know that even today, some Sefardim who [themeselves] immigrated to Israel still have more than one wife?
Their kids don’t, obviously, but where they come from it was allowed, acceptable, and they had no cherem d’Rabbeinu Gershom.
Don’t forget that the Torah sees this as fine – as long as you can give each wife a separate house.
