Major sales has Lubavitchers around the world flocking to Jewish book stores and online retailers to purchase seforim in honor of Hey Teves, Chabad’s official “book holiday.”
The 5th of Teves, which fell out on Shabbos this year, marks the victory of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement over the ownership of the Rebbe’s library in 1987.
Kehot Publication Society, Chabad’s official publishing house, is running a 7 day sale on its “largest inventory ever” until Tuesday, December 30, 2014.
They are offering up to 50% off the price list of Hebrew and English books at its showroom on Kingston Avenue corner Eastern Parkway and online at Kehot.com.
Some of their newer products are Historical Sketches: Events in the Life of Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, Sefer HaSichos 5705 – English, Daily Wisdom – Compact Edition, Mapping the Tanya (DVD) by Rabbi Shais Taub, and the 5 Novelettes by Marcus Lehman.
At the online store SeforimDeals.com, the Hey Teves sale was not given an end date. But they do ask costumers to “please allow all orders placed during the Hey Teves sale an additional 3-4 days for processing.”

Seforim were also seen sold in front of the main shul of 770 Eastern Parkway and at Hamafitz Judaica & Gifts at 361 Kingston Avenue in Brooklyn.
