On Thursday, Mr. Levi Gombo, owner of a kosher bakery chain which includes a branch in Crown Heights, was rushed to the hospital after his kidneys failed.
Gombo was rushed to Orange County Hospital in upstate New York where he is spending the summer while running his bakery in South Fallsburg, NY.
Gombo, a familiar face in the Crown Heights community ever since he opened a store on Kingston Avenue in 2009, is well known to all as a friendly face and one who helps many local charities.
Upon hearing the news on COLlive, people around the world united in saying Tehillim for his recovery. Children from Lubavitch Yeshiva Day Camp in Crown Heights visited the bakery to pray for his recovery.
On Friday, Gombo’s wife told a Crown Heights resident that her husband’s condition had gotten “much better” since yesterday.
Levi Gombo was responding and moving his eyes and hands, friends reported.
“Please thank everyone for their Tehillim,” his wife said. “And please continue to say tehillim, since a lot more is still needed.”
Please continue to say Tehillim for Levi Yitzchok ben Tzirel.

I have personally witnessed, on a few occasions, where Mr. Gombo made note of children not having enough money for their moms shopping list. He would come around the counter, speak softly to the children and tell them what a great job shopping they are doing. While speaking to them he was quietly bagging up their selections and handed it to them with a smile.
He is a true light in our community. May Hashem protect him in the zechus of his beautiful acts of kindness – all done with class.
May we continue hearing good news and he should have a complete Refuah
What is his kapital for davening please?
He is the best man! I love him!
