Camp Hires Program Director

Along with exciting upgrades to its campsite, Camp Chomeish announces its talented program director.

Hundreds of campers have spent memorable summers in Camp Chomeish of New England, under the loving leadership of executive directors Rabbi Sholom Ber and Chaya Stock.

As the new season draws near, the directors have announced the appointment of Mrs. Esther Freeman as program director to lead a summer of well-structured Chassidishe values, safety and fun.

Mrs. Freeman is an experienced camp counselor and head counselor with a joyful and optimistic personality. She is well-known as a talented musician and singer and loved as a kind and caring friend.

Summer 2015 marks Camp Chomeish’s third season in its own magnificent 21-acre campgrounds. The picturesque campus, just 2.5 hours from Brooklyn, in Moodus, Connecticut, boasts a remarkable array of amenities including lodge-style cabins, a spacious main building and a private boating pond.

Mrs. Freeman says her priority is to ensure a well-planned program that provides the utmost safety and enjoyment for campers, counselors and parents. Along with the staff and program enhancements, the camp’s Olympic-plus size swimming pool has undergone a complete renovation for the new season.

Making essential themes in Yiddishkeit spring to life is a unique characteristic of a summer in Camp Chomeish. Rabbi Stock brings his wealth of experience and knowledge to his regular demonstrations of Mitzvos and practical teaching of principles in Yiddishkeit and Chassidus.

Rallies and carnivals, learning contests and bunk competition; pride and joy in all aspects of Yiddishkeit, preparing the world for Moshiach, Hiskashus to our Rebbe and learning life lesson from Tzadikim are all integral parts of camp.
In 1998, responding to the growing need for a caring, Chassidishe overnight experience, Rabbi and Mrs. Stock established Camp Chomeish for girls ages 8-14.

The camp is privileged to carry the name of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, of righteous memory. Fittingly, a hallmark of the camp is its emphasis on ruchniyus, both curricular and extra-curricular. The camp is known for its spirit of Ahavas Yisroel and friendly atmosphere in which every camper knows that she is significant and is cared for by staff and fellow campers alike.
