R’ Tzvi Slavin, an elder Chosid and longtime resident of Crown Heights, passed away on Wednesday, 18 Kislev 5775.
He was 94.
After the war, R’ Tzvi moved to Paris, where he married Mrs. Miriam Mincberg, daughter of Hagaon Rabbi Dovid Mincberg obm, the Mashgiach Ruchni of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin.
While living in Paris, R’ Tzvi spent much time near the Rebbe when he came to meet his mother Rebbetzin Chana while she was on the way from Russia to the US.
He had a very special relationship with Reb Peretz Mochkin obm, and would often repeat words of wisdom that he had heard from him over the years.
R’ Tzvi was a long-time resident of Crown Heights, known for his quick wit and generosity to others.
He is survived by his wife Miriam and children R’ Eli Slavin – Crown Heights; Rabbi Velvel Zev Slavin – Kfar Chabad, Israel; Mrs. Batya Goldberger – Crown Heights and Rabbi Dovid Slavin – Sydney, Australia, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many of whom are Shluchim around the world.
He is also survived by his sister, Mrs. Riva Karp of Crown Heights.
He was predeceased by his daughter Mrs. Tzivia Zaklos a few months ago.
The Levaya will take place Thursday passing by 770 at 10:45 am.
Shiva will be at 440 Crown Street (Kingston and Brooklyn Avenues)
