The 19th of Kislev will be celebrated in Chabad communities around the world as the Rosh Hashana of Chassidus and a day to rededicate our commitment to the ideals of Torah and Mitzvos.
The day is marked with intense prayer, learning, doing Mitzvos and in Farbrengen gatherings to be held in Chabad synagogues, centers and schools.
The day itself commemorates the occasion of Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the first Chabad Rebbe known as the Alter Rebbe, being released from prison in czarist Russia allowing him to continue his holy work.
Below are a few related events being held in Crown Heights and around New York. If you know of additional events, email editor@COLlive.com.
