For over 50 years, Rabbi Hillel Pewsner, the late rov of the Chabad community in France, has tirelessly worked to provide proper Jewish education to tens of thousands of children.
His legendary work continues on with his son, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Pewsner, running the 3 educational campuses in France’s capital city: Sinai, Heichel Menachem and Ki Tov.
Yet a new and 4th complex will bear the name of the network’s founder.
Despite the economic downturn and other difficulties, the Pewsner family was able to gather enough support to build “Beth Hillel,” another school for Jewish boys and girls who would otherwise be enrolled in the public school system.
Attending the inauguration ceremony were Israel’s former Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar, Mazkir Rabbi Leibel Groner, Rabbi David Pinto, Kehal Yeraim’s Rabbi Y.D. Frankfurter, Paris’ Chabad Rabbi Avrohom Boruch Pewsner and Brunoy Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yechiel Kalmenson.
Proudly standing beside her son, Rabbi Yosef Pewsner, was the long-time Shlucha and partner in her late husband’s work, Mrs. Eshka Pewsner.
The opening ceremony was followed by a lavish dinner for the guests and supporters of the institutions. It was entertained by the singer Chaim Yisrael and produced by Michael Caplin Productions.
