The following is a statement by Rabbi Levi Garelik, an halachic posek and dean of TheOnlineRabbi.com:
In regards to the many inquiries regarding preparing kneidlach on Friday, Shvii shel Pesach, as this year, 5775, Acharon Shel Pesach falls out on Shabbos:
Answer:
Those that have a family custom should follow family minhog.
It is permissible to prepare the kneidlach on Friday (Shvii shel Pesach), provided that:
1. You made an Eruv Tavshilin before YomTov (on Thursday).
2. The Kneidlach are prepared on Friday afternoon – Shvii Shel Pesach (and not on Thursday).
3. The utensils (pot, plates, and cutlery etc.) used for making the kneidlach, will be kept separately from other utensils and will not be used for anything else on Friday and they will be stored away till Shabbos.
why go thru so many loopholes for matzo balls? it’s not so chassidish to crave matzo balls. Just crumble matzo into your soup, I think it’s quite silly to bend in so many ways “ALL For THe Matzo Balls!”
For heaven sake what is so complicated.
Can one not use separate kaleim to make as many kneidlich as you need for Acheron shel pesach ‘BEFORE PESACH COMMENCES” and simply place them in your freezer until Etev Shabbos, DUH!
how do you make matza balls from scratch with shmura matza? last time I tried they were kind of black and not very good looking.
Anyone have a recipe to share?
p.s. Thank You Rabbi Garelik – a true Rav and chosid! And a mentch!
I was grateful that this Psak was sent out by email in Pittsburgh, as I would not have made Kneidlach otherwise. Thanks to our dear Rabbi Rosenfeld, sheyichyeh l’orech yomim v’shonim tovos!
You need to taste at least one Shabbos food before Shabbos-ask your rav.
Funny, you challenge COL for posting a Psak from a Rav who is named. You can decide if you want to trust him or not.
But you are “nameless” and then generously offer a Halachic ruling based on your personal experiences. That’s great if we knew who you were and could know that you are to be trusted.
Logical?
Gut Yom Tov and may everyone’s Knaidlach be fluffy!
Why are you publishing a psak from an independent rabbi when we have official rabbonei hashchuna. Both Rav Dvorkin and Rav Marlowe a”h paskened that it is permitted to cook them on Friday. They have to be cooked early enough so that you COULD eat them on Friday, even if you will actually not eat them until Shabbos. To no. 11: You do not have to “taste” the food on Friday; only that it has to be ready early enough so that you COULD taste it. The pots used for the kneidlach should not be used for anything that is… Read more »
nite gavriel quotes (and misquotes as usual) the poskim that talk about the issue of preparing food you can’t eat that day for the next day.
no one seems to have an issue with the fact that it might become chometz

Once when the same kivius came out, they didn’t already knaidlach, the Rebbe was very upset that knaidlach weren’t made.

If it’s good for the Rebbe it should be good for you.
Perhaps the Chumrah of not eating gebroks is not extended to not having it at all. (Bal yerah/yemotzah) Especially in light of the other chumrah to eat all kinds of gebroks on achron.
i was taught whatever you cook for shabbos, you have to taste on friday, so how can we taste the kneidlach?
One time in this kevius they didn’t make the rebbe matzah balls and the rebbe was not happy about it
The only rabbi in CH who is a posek and cares
Can a Rov answer from what time Friday afternoon can the kneidlach be made?
In Otzar minhogei chabad page 225 it says that (when Achron shel pesach falls on Shabbos) there are those who prepare the knaidlach on Friday, and when knaidlach were once not brought to the Rebbe’s table, the Rebbe asked for the reason; the reply was that they thought that when it’s on Shabbos no knaidlach are served, the Rebbe was totally not satisfied with the answer.
See also Nitay Gavriel vol 3 page 75 at length.
Enjoy the knaidlach!!
Ccording ti what I heard the kneidilach were prepared for the rebbe on friday and he ate the friday eve
Ask the people that worked there and that is what they told me
isn’t it a problem to have “gebroktz” in your house before acharon shel pesach???
???
I once learned/heard that according to Kabballah one shouldn’t make Gebrochts until the Sefirah of “Malchus Sheb’Chesed” (Achron Shel Pesach) in Sefiras HaOmer has begun…
Based on what is this pesak?
Not used the following Pesach as well for anything till gebrochz?
