The Bais Binyomin shul in Crown Heights hosted an hours-long chassidic farbrengen celebrating Yud Tes Kislev, the Rosh Hashana of Chassidus.
It was organized by chazzan Moshe Adler who especially prepared the kasha dish which according to tradition was eaten by the Alter Rebbe before being freed from Czarist prison.
Leading the farbrengen was Mashpia Rabbi Zalman Chanin who reviewed the story of the arrest and imprisonment of the Alter Rebbe and the spiritual meaning of the secrets of Kaballah being available to all through the Tanya.
Rabbi Chanin went on to discuss the many printings of the Tanya he has been involved with and special experiences he has seen by those who printed a local edition in their location.
The evening included L’chaims and niggunim and what has begun with members of the shul continued with bochurim who are part of the Kevutza group from the Chabad Yeshiva in Kiryat Gat.
It was a farbrengen fittingly located in a shul named after the chassid and baal menagen R’ Binyomin Levin OBM who was considered the life behind the annual and legendary Yud Tes Kislev Farbrengen in Kfar Chabad.
