Jerusalem Parade Unites, Inspires

A diverse crowd of close to 200 joined for a Lag B’Omer unity parade with Chabad of Baka, directed by Rabbi Avraham and Nechama Dina Hendel. Several children from the South Jerusalem Friendship Circle, a branch of Chabad of Baka, proudly joined in the parade.

Hats, balloons, and banners promoting mitzvos were carried with pride. The drumming band was comprised of local boys, who trained with devoted musicians, Michael and Tehilla Rose, in preparation for the parade. Although quite young, they performed beautifully!

Volunteers at the event included members of the warm, English speaking Chabad of Baka community and admirable seminary girls, who traveled from Ramat Shlomo after a tiring night in Meron.

After a joyful march through the Jerusalem streets, the group gathered for a rally, which included the recitation of pesukim and an ices and Jewish book for every child. The highlight was a thrilling presentation by the Jewish Theatre, “Nekudah Tova.”

These Breslov actors wowed the crowd with their professional, hilarious, and highly entertaining play. The best part was the educational content and meaningful message they conveyed: to always find the good in every person and situation. Parents were laughing hysterically, together with their children, and appreciated the important lesson.

Parent and educator, Mrs. Gila Lowell, who joined from Ramot with her family, enthused: “This really lit us up!”
