The first yartzeit of England’s Head Shliach Rabbi Nachman Sudak is being marked with a series of events in both London and New York.
Rabbi Sudak was the head of Chabad Lubavitch UK for over 5 decades, leading the growth and overseeing the activities of what is now a national organization that includes 36 Chabad Houses and 14 schools.
On Wednesday evening, an event took place in Beis Lubavitch, Stamford Hill with an inspirational evening of learning in Yiddish.
The MC was Rabbi Mendel Itzinger who introduced Rabbi Hershel Kesselman, Rabbi Sudak’s son in law, who began the proceedings. He was followed by Rabbi Yitzchok Meir Hertz, Dayan Levi Yitzchok Raskin, Rabbi Hirshner and Rabbi Yosef Padwa.
A Siyum on the entire Shas was made by Rabbi Levi Sudak.
An evening is scheduled for Thursday night for the English speaking community in London as well.
An event for men will take place in Crown Heights on Thursday, at Kollel Menachem, 303 Kingston Avenue at 9:00 pm.
The guest speaker will be Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, Chairman of Agudas Chasidei Chabad.
