BH , I had the privilege to be at the Zirkind home many , many many times for Shabbos. There was always so many guests.
I will always remember his humor , lively Torah discussions , delicious meals , neat accomodations and pleasant atmosphere.
We should be zoche to see him very soon with the coming of Geulah Shalaima.

I remember his story about the Korean war (1953). We hear lots of war stories, how potential Jewish recruits managed, miraculously or bracha from a Rebbe, to avoid being selected for duty (e.g. underweight, too short, not well, did something “strange,” etc.). Rav Zirkind, A”H, since he was not in Yeshiva or any kind of school, could not get an exemption, so he had to report for duty and, subsequently, was in Korea for action.
