A traditional Menorah lighting took place Wednesday, the first night of Chanukah, at the office of Florida Governor Rick Scott.
The Menorah lighting was coordinated by Shluchim Rabbi Schneur and Chanie Oirechman, who arrived with their children and representatives of the Tallahassee Jewish community to light the first Chanukah candle.
The Governor took time out to spend with his visitors, inviting the children to sit in his chair and play “Governor for the day.”
Next week a traditional lighting at the Governors mansion will take place, coordinated by the Oirechmans with the past two Governors as well.
