Thousands are expected to attend the annual “International Rambam Celebration” to be held Thursday evening, March 1 – Adar 7, at Oholei Torah in Crown Heights.
Leading rabbis and Roshei Yeshiva in New York will participate and deliver words of Torah and inspiration as the the Rambam is completed for the 30th time since the Rebbe established the daily study.
The event is organized by Rabbi Shmuel Butman and donated by philanthropist R’ Sholom Ber Drizin in honor of his father, the Mashpia Reb Avrohom Drizin-Mayorer OBM.
A musical interlude will be presented by the Sparks Boys Choir. Men and women are invited.
During a farbrengen in 5745, the Rebbe said “even those for whichever reason they did not learn 3 chapters a day, but one chapter, or Sefer Hamitzvos, and even if they still did not begin learning Rambam – they can and should attend the Siyumim.”
The Rebbe noted at the time that by participating, one is celebrating his friend’s accomplishments and that by attending one will be inspired to start learning as well.
