To conclude their year The Aleph Wondergirls of The Shul of Bal Harbour were invited to a High Tea celebration and enjoyed a sophisticated dress up station, finger sandwiches and small elegant desserts.
The “wonderladies” drank tea with their pinkies in the air and were very delighted with the services of butler, Eli Muchnik.
The group Hachlata taken on by the girls for the summer was Ahavas Yisroel and they were awarded with heart balloons and Ahavas Yisroel shoe laces.
At this event the “ladies” also opened mail from Mr. Mordechai Texler’s 1st grade students in Coney Island’s Public School PS188. This was in response to the gifts that the girls had sent to the children of PS188 earlier in the year while learning about the Mitzvah of Darkei Shalom and Kiddush Hashem.
The Aleph Wondergirls had been very enthusiastic about the project and, of course, loved receiving the thank you correspondence. Their teacher, Yakira Leah Dorfman, had visited the students at PS 188 earlier this year and during her visit she shared with the class how beautiful their thank you letters were. She expressed that because of their gratitude they will be mentioned in an article. The gifts they received were a small taste of Florida since they were equipped with a bucket and shovel decorated and packed by The Aleph Wondergirls.
The Aleph Wondergirls have learned beautiful lessons from programs such as these and have enjoyed the past two years of Torah enriched activities, trips and celebrations. The Aleph Wondergirls of The Shul of Bal Harbour will resume weekly programs/ craft hours and Shabbos groups at the end of August for girls 4 ½ – 7 years. There will be an additional group for girls 7 ½ – 10 years who will join twice a week for similar programs such as Fabrengens, Mitzvah campaigns, Mother and Daughter programs and of course, Shabbatons.
We are currently looking for an appropriate name for the new program- any ideas?
