Teachers hold the most valuable position in our community, as the Rebbeim often emphasized, but how often do we recognize them that way?
With a generous endowment from Mr. Jerry and Sharon Eisenberg, the Menachem Education Foundation is on a mission to show teachers how much they count.
The Menachem Education Foundation (MEF) is a Crown Heights based organization with the aim of raising the bar in Jewish Education. Their initiatives include the Teacher Training Programs for men and women, the newly launched Inquiry Program for Crown Heights Schools, and the development of the Zekelman Standards for Chumash and Gemara, investing in the quality of our community’s education.
With the Eisenberg Award, MEF places the spotlight on teachers themselves. By recognizing the effort and achievements of outstanding teachers, we can show our support and encouragement to the people who most hold our children’s education in their hands.
In the past, the Eisenberg Award has been given to outstanding teachers in schools nationwide, including Los Angeles, Miami, Pittsburgh and Crown Heights.
This year, MEF is zooming in on alumni of its Teachers Training Program, and will be giving the $1000 award at its upcoming event for Alumni and Associates, to be held on Motzei Shabbos Mevorchim Kislev / November 2nd.
Parents, nominate a teacher who has made your son’s year special! Principals, nominate your employees, and teachers, nominate your peers!

Nominations must be received by 6 Cheshvan / October 10.

Rabbi wirceberg of Ohr Menachem!!!! best teacher that cannot be replaced by anyone else.
does the teacher have to be from NY? what about other countries?
brief description of Rabbi Lipsker: patient, understanding, non judgemental, gives each child a chance to grow in their own unique way, genuine care for the students, teaches proper midos, his motto “derech eretz kadmah latorah”. We need more Rabbi Lipskers throughout the educational system, perhaps less students will fall thru the cracks.
Dedicated beyond words

Why cant this be open for any teacher??? Finally there is something out there to recognize the importance of teaching but its only open to MEF teachers???
Posirive recognition is often neglected, and so important! So thank you for this opportunity.
Why only MEF trained teachers are able to be nominated. Our teachers are excellent and not Mef trained so why can’t they be awarded…

Morahs aren’t alumni of the program. That’s why they are excluded
I nominate Rabbi Itzik Wolf, who taught the accelerated 8th grade in Oholei Torah for the last few years and raised the level of learning in 8th grade to yeshiva gedolah level. Rabbi Wolf created a generation of lamdanim and b’nei Torah who truly love to learn and are chassidishe bochurim that make the Rebbe proud.
