After intense preparation for yud shvat, students participating in the chayolei beis Dovid extra-curricular program of 7th grade at Lubavitch Yeshiva of Crown Heights were rewarded for their hard work with a grand snow tubing trip.
Chayolei beis Dovid and its daily programs are organized by the bochurim Shaya Spielman and Moishy Goldstein, with the help of the madrichim Lavi Klein and Shmuly Goldman and is directed by Zevy Gutleizer.
Each Motzei Shabbos the students gather together with their fellow classmates and madrichim for a melave malka / farbrengen, at which point the weekly theme in chassidishkeit to be stressed upon that week is announced.
A few weeks ago, the grand preparation for yud shvat was launched with much excitement.
The mivtza was unique in that it included not only the weekly melave malkas and farbrengens, it also stressed upon each talmid to improve himself personally, wherever they are holding in their own level of Chasidishkeit.
“We don’t require the talmidim to meet any specific demands, only to make an effort in self-improvement, no matter how minimal,” one madrich explained.
The talmidim were reminded again and again, that their personal hachana is to show the Rebbe that they personally accept his nesius.
The trip started with 2 and a half hours of snow tubing, while there was plenty of farbeisen which included marshmallows on skewers at the fireplace on the bottom of the slope to warm up and farbreng a bit before returning to the slopes.
The talmidim were accompanied by the madrichim as well as bochurim from Oholei Torah Zal.
After snow tubing, they were welcomed to a dining hall, where they were greeted with hot soups and a grand barbeque.
After maariv, the amazing outing was topped off by a private swim, complete with a sauna and jacuzzi, after which they finally boarded the bus home.
Even after a late return and an action-packed day, Minyan the next morning started right on time at 7:25 am.
