Congregation Bais Shmuel – Chabad in Crown Heights held another BBQ dinner for the men spending the weekdays in the city for work while their wives and children are in the bungalows in the Catskills or at summer camps.
Hosted at the home of Haysha Deitsch, the evening included a dynamic history lesson by the shul’s spiritual leader, Rabbi YY Jacobson focusing on the teachings of the Rebbe and how they were edited and distributed.
As reported on COLlive.com, this was the third in the series of weekly summer events organized by Rabbi Moshe Pinson and the Bais Shmuel Board.
“During the summer months, many of the yungeleit in Crown Heights are home alone,” explains Jacobson, one of the most sought-after lecturers in the Jewish world today and dean of TheYeshiva.net study website.
“Much time may be squandered with not the most productive pursuits,” Jacobson pointed out in a conversation with COLlive.com.
He suggested that “shuls in the neighborhood galvanize their members and bring them together as often as possible to eat and learn together. We should also create a central learning program where dinner is served each night and shuirim and programs are available.
“The Rebbe craved with his entire heart that all of our yungeleit should be entrenched in learning Torah. Summer is an awesome time when yungeleit can go through complete Tractates of Shas or other learning goals.”

What an amazing idea! I totally agree!!
They should go from strength to strength in their success with this!
This is an amazing venture. We have to keep the mind as a vacuum filled, since that yh is always active, especially when people are lonely and bored.
