Sephardi and Ashkenazi do well together, apparently.
Brooklyn’s biggest Chol Hamoed Sukkos concert event Monday night at the Millennium Theater featured two prominent Jewish singers who hail from very different backgrounds.
Both Chaim Yisrael and Lipa Schmeltzer gave incredible and electrifying performances, with the crowd going wild with each song introduced.
Chaim Yisrael, in his debut concert in New York, wowed the crowd with his popular Hebrew and oriental songs, while Lipa shone with his variety of hits.
Their duets turned out to be an amazing fusion of musical styles, Schmeltzer bringing the chassidic vibe, while Yisrael singing with Sephardic warmth.
The two musical styles blended seamlessly with both singers performing separately and together.
The concert was produced by JME Live, with music by the Freilach band and accompanied by the Shira Choir.
The second show takes place Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Box office opens at 12.
