The Israel Day Hawaii Festival took place this Sunday on the spacious grounds fronting the Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building, known as Skygate Park – the same familiar area used by “Flavors of Honolulu.”
Chabad of Hawaii, directed by Rabbi Itchel and Pearl Krasnjanski, has its hands full with more than one booth offering spiritual and material services.
Bochurim Nossi Rosenfeld and Yehudah Leib Welton were manning the Teffillin booth which turned out a whopping over 80 teffillin (as well as several ‘karkaftas’).
Former Governor of Hawaii Linda Lingle and Shlucha Mrs. Pearl Krasnjanski were invited to address participants, both pointing out the strong bond between Israel and the United States.
Rabbi Avremel Chazanow, Director of Chabad in Hawaii’s Big Island, was also present.
Oahu Kosher, a local catering company run by Lubavitcher Yudi Wienbaum, offered a full menu of his fresh kosher food.
