Calling on all Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French speakers from around the world…
A Canadian-Israeli foundation is offering to donate Jewish books in the above mentioned languages to libraries associated with Chabad-Lubavitch. And they are ready to help up to 75 libraries.
Appointed to receive the requests and transfer the grants is Rabbi Shimon Aisenbach, Director of Chabad Friends of Cuban Jewry (CFCJ).
“It all started when this foundation helped us open our Spanish library in Havana, Cuba, and we were approached to open more Spanish libraries in remote areas across the globe,” he told COLlive.com.
“After covering most Chabad houses serving Spanish-speaking communities, we got the OK to go on with Portuguese, and again after covering most of that crowd, we got requests to also help with French and Italian books for the sake of Jews living in remote areas.”

Shimon, I am so proud of your acomplishments, there is no better way to instill Yiddishkeit in our youth than educating them through reading. The Frierdiker Rebbe was the first one that began translating holy books into 70 languages and our Rebbe continued and developed this idea. Surely this will accomplish the task of bringing everyone closer to Yiddishkeit and together we will go out of this bitter Golus with Malkeinu Berosheinu.
