A large crowd is expected to be converging on the historic Ukrainian city of Haditch to mark a most auspicious day in the Jewish world.
Monday is the Rosh Hashana of Chassidus and will be celebrated with an added enthusiasm and eagerness to mark the upcoming 200th yartzeit of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi.
Kislev 19 is the day the first Chabad-Lubavitch Rebbe was released from Czarist Russia prison, allowing him to continue spread Torah and chassidus through his monumental works and kabbalistic approach.
Many of the visitors who will came to pray over the next 48 hours will also be attending the inauguration of Heichal Admur Hazaken, a new shul, mikvah and welcome center in Haditch and brainchild of the late philanthropist Sami Rohr OBM.
On hand for the opening will be his son George Rohr, Vice Chairman of Merkos Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky and the new Shliach in Haditch, Rabbi Mendel Teichman who has recently moved from Uzhgorod.
Taking a lead in the celebrations will be Chabad Shluchim in former Soviet Union countries and their community members.
One of them is Rabbi Chaim Danzinger who is leading a delegation of Jews from Rostov, Russia. His group will be then traveling to pray at holy gravesites of the chassidic greats in Berdichev, Mezibuze and Anipoli.
“This is a hachlata we took in the Rebbe Rashab’s house during a Chof Cheshvan farbrengen this year,” the Rostov Shliach and Chief Rabbi told COLlive.
For those who which to follow the proceedings as they unfold in Hadiach, Rabbi Danzinger will be reporting live at Twitter.com/RostovRabbi.
R’ Yaakov Halperin, from the organizing committee, said there will be transportation from the center of town to the gravesite which will be closed off for private vehicles. Events are being coordinated by Caplin Productions.
Is the shull complete or still under construction? Does the Aron Kodesh have ‘Poroches’?

Our seminary came in from dnepropetrovsk for the event and for the Yom Tov. The ohel was jammed back the entire day, and the new shul is stunning.
I am sure they will do so soon, it sounds like this was just built and a shaliach has just been assigned, so I am sure as soon as he gets organized, he will offer the service of sending a pan. Right now, it is just wonderful to see, on this special day.
Was there in June!
changed so much since last year!
I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!
IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!
GO KHARKOV!
Surely many like myself wish to send a P”N to be placed on the Tziyun of the Alter Rebbe on this Auspicious day, why is this service not offered like in Alma Atta, Rostov and the Ohel Hakodosh?
what a gift to be able to see the sight of the kever from 7,000 miles away. Yashur Koach to the Rohr family for the shul and mikvah. May the buildings be well used in the years to come.
