It’s interesting how people are considered privileged when they make more than the low threshold to qualify for benefits. Here’s the deal: Not qualifying means qualifying to pay (through the roof) taxes which finance these benefits, qualifying to pay your own rent and buy your own food and pay your own (through the roof) health insurance premiums and your own tuition whether or not you can afford it. “[W]hen applying for a 3 bedroom, be sure that the building you are applying for has a 3 bedroom apartment.”
Does anyone know which of these buildings have 3 bedroom apartments?

This is #1 I am NOT eligible for any of these or any programs. I and my husband work “on the books” and pay for all these programs with our tax dollars. I abhor the fact that people cheat to be eligible. That said, it was not what I meant. I meant that anyone that IS eligible (article not clear about the parameters), and many in our community are LEGALLY eligible and needy, should apply even if right now they don’t know if they will want it. When the time comes, they can decide. I meant it just to increase… Read more »

Do you need to be on Welfare/Be welfare eligible in order to qualify? Where can you get more information on what income qualifies?

Call the proper authorities and they will verify if anything is fishy. I don’t think these are Jewish buildings, and why should that matter.

Are these Jewish buildings ?

Subsidized housing is designed and designated for the poor. Welfare is not a grab bag of goodies to be exploited at your leisure. If you do not actually qualify for subsidized housing – or any other welfare program for that matter, you should not be pursuing this. Misrepresenting ones income by shielding income or claiming single-mother status to gain a financial benefit you would not otherwise qualify for is called THEFT plain and simple. It is no different from walking into a grocery store, taking something off the shelf, and leaving without paying. Except that when you steal from the… Read more »

I think collive just made a lot of people happy. I hope these apartments go to those that really filled out the form and are qualified not just those with connections…

Is this income eligible? Can u sub-lease it to a friend or family member?
Anyone that is even remotely eligible for these should apply, even if u don’t know you will take it. This will increase the odds of a Jewish family getting it
