Bat Mitzvah Club’s 5 Day Trip

Chabad’s Teens Club in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is a program created for Jewish teens who finished Bat Mitzvah club, to keep them coming to the Centro Novo Horizonte run by Rabbi Noach and Pessy Gansburg, to continue to learn about Judaism.

Once a week the teens get together to do an activity related to special issues and interests for them. The meeting is always different, using different methods to attract them, such as cooking, arts, debates, chessed activities, or delving in-depth into a topic of interest or concern.

Participants who attend all the sessions throughout the year are rewarded with a 5 day trip, all expenses paid, to Buenos Aires, Argentina. This year, seven girls were lucky enough to win.

The itinerary included visiting places like Caminito, Parque Rosedal, Jardim Japones, Tren de la Costa, Parque de la costa, Porto Madeiro, shopping outlet malls, and more. The group was comfortably accommodated in Majon Or Jaia, a beautiful 5 star dormitory for girls run by Jani Gurevitch.

Every night the girls got to go out to sample the delicious kosher restaurants in Buenos Aires. They also enjoyed a very inspiring shabbos, eating the Friday night meal by Rabbi Yehoshua and Carolina Forma, and a shabbos day meal with Rabbi Mendel Gurevitch and his wife Jani.

For many girls it was very exciting as it was the first time they were leaving the country. It was a very positive experience, where the girls learned hands-on about Kosher, daavening, keeping shabbos and more.
