Thousands of bochurim, students of Chabad Yeshivos in Israel and across the world, are making their way to New York City where they will remain for a month time.
Packed with holidays, Chabad youngsters traditionally spent the month of Tishrei with the Rebbe, beginning from Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur through Sukkos and Simchas Torah.
A learning schedule and accommodations are being provided by Vaad Talmidi Hatmimim, an organization working under the auspices of the Central Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva Lubavitch at 770 Eastern Parkway.
The main shul of 770 will be divided into sections for each yeshiva, special learning booklet will be printed and programming will include farbrengens and screening of videos of the Rebbe.
The Vaad is offering free meals three times a day at the Chovevei Torah Yeshiva down Eastern Parkway, as well as sleeping arrangements in Crown Heights.
Another option for bochurim is to spent time near the Rebbe’s Ohel at the Old Montefiore cemetery in Cambria Heights, Queens, in coordination with Ohel Chabad Lubavitch, directed by Rabbi Abba Refson.
Bochurim will be able to daven, learn, eat and sleep there. And for those wishing to join for a few hours, the Vaad will be providing a bus service every morning from 770.
Patrons of the Vaad’s activities this month are Crown Heights businessmen Avrohom Lokshin, Nachman Lokshin and Schneur Minsky.
“This is an all time high registration,” noted the Vaad’s director Rabbi Tzvi Altein. “We look forward for an inspiring month with the hope that this Tishrei we will be united with the Rebbe in Yerushalayim.”
my son is there , how does he sign up? he does not have a proper place to eat and sleep right now
It is interesting how we are allowing the split in chabad to perpetuate by providing alternate “programming” based on viewpoints. Let’s end machlokes and welcome all chassidim to Kan Tziva and life as it states “uv’ chartem bachaim.”
It really is a big yasher koach, because it was very difficult for one group alone to take care of all the orchim for so many years.
all the help that is offered is a definite plus.
People,
This is a huge blessing. You know how many confused Israeli souls there used to be coming away from “Tishre” .This is amazing! A Huge Yashar Koach to the organizers.
What are the eligibility requirements for food and accommodation?
and for the women?
What about the food that is offered in 1414 and the sleeping arrangements that are made by other groups? why not mention all the options so that no one gets stuck?
