Chabad of the Netherland’s capital city of Amsterdam recently celebrated the opening of a new center to serve the Israeli community.
Shluchim Rabbi Akiva and Taiby Camissar arrived on Shlichus in Amsterdam just a year ago, and have now opened a new center to coordinate all activities and programs designed for local and visiting Israelis.
The Chabad House is located in the city’s Jewish Community Center, in the area of the city with the largest Israeli population.
On Wednesday, Tu B’Shvat the public was invited for the opening celebration, to raise a glass for Lechaim, and for a traditional Tu B’Shvat event.
Many guests of all walks of life attended the open house celebration which went on throughout the afternoon. Participants included Israelis, Jews from the local community, other Shluchim in the Netherlands and prominent community members.
The new Chabad Center is directed by the Camissars, under the auspices of Chabad of the Netherlands, headed by Rabbi Yitzchak Vorst and Rabbi Binyomin Jacobs, and with the support of Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
