In Chabad Yeshivos from Connecticut to Los Angeles, Miami to Israel, Rambam is being served.
Dovi Lesches, a young real estate Entrepreneur from New York City, has been awarding bochurim who learn Misheh Torah every day with delicacies rarely seen in a yeshiva dining room.
Every evening, hundreds of Lubavitch bochurim take time out of their own dinner break to return to Zal for a 20 minute shiur as part of a drive to keep the Rebbe’s instruction of learning Rambam daily.
They are then served either pizza or sushi, as well as snacks, soda, Starbucks coffee, and are included in raffles for seforim and iPads.
At the end of this month all participating Bochurim will partake in a special trip and barbeque.
“It was very hard for me to learn Rambam, but this Mivtzah inspired me to learn it every day!” one Bochur in Shiur Alef Mesivta said.
“It made learning Rambam accessible to those who thought it wasn’t,” said R’ Yosef Rivkin, Mashpiah of Yeshiva Bais Dovid Shlomo in New Haven, Connecticut
Lesches generously funded the worldwide boost in honor of his grandparents’ 60th anniversary.
“With attendance of above 90%, this initiative is one of the best performers in my portfolio,” Lesches quipped. “It’s a great honor for me to be able to do this for my grandparents’ 60th anniversary. Together with all of the Bochurim I would like to wish a very happy anniversary to Bubby and Zaidy Turner and many more happy, healthy years together,” said Lesches.
The program is being offered at Yeshivas worldwide, with each school’s program designed individually with the help of Rabbi Gil Leeds, Mendel Turner and Mendy Dalfin.
Check out the sushi! Man! you guys have class
great job dovi were all proud of you
Rabbi Eizocovics and his staff as well as the Shluchim are just the best. Keep it up!!
Shmully you look great, lots of hatzlocha!
You must live on a different planet. The boys need all the incentive programs we can give them today. Climb back under your rock. You sound like a bitter ole’ person with some axe to grind.
Man this takes me back! Makes me wish I was back in yeshiva again. Why couldn’t they have something like this when I was in yeshiva? (sigh!) #35 Get out of your cave and start walking upright!
Go levi B
Look at that packed zal in new haven learning rambam oh it’s so geshmak to look at
unfortunately you do not sound like a caraing parent but a bitter person who can not find something positive to this beautiful Mivtza. Did you ever send boys to yeshiva? After a full day and yet they want to come back and learn extra is very honorable of these young men. Take your head out of the ground and look around at our situation and say yes BH to these young men for wanting to participate.
are you a krinsky????????
dovi keep up the good job you rock
This is so beautiful. Kol Hakavod to whoever is involved in making this happen. Great job! Positive incentive for positive things! Hope we have more things like this going on! I hope you”ll do it for the girls too — the Rebbe wanted men, women, and children to participate.
You are nothing but a caring parent! 1. Don’t the yeshivos have rabbonim who know kashrus better than you? (And for the record, there is absolutly nothing wrong with regular black coffee even from McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts. Keeping Kashrus is not about raising doubts, it about knowing your stuff) 2. These bochurim learn all day, in most yeshivos the food is terrible, so give them a brake. More people get sick because of stress than caffeine. 3. No, it’s not a joke. A young guy donates something to your son and you run to complain why do little? Read… Read more »
very nice
kol hakavod
1) isn’t Starbucks a Shaaleh in regards to Kashrus
2) coffee is a very unhealthy thing and very addicting! so why are these young people having coffee?
3) What is three pieces of sushi? is this meant to be a joke?
3) Rambam should be done for the Rebbe not because of food or somebodys anniversery , if you want to do something for
your grandparents anniversery why dont you do it with family?
why have bochurim thinking that they will only do good things if they do so and so?
