Chabad House of Lincoln Road in Miami Beach celebrated the gift of a new Torah generously given by Adam and Jacklyn Bergman and Pam Bergman in honor of their dear parents Richard and Angela Bergman.
The entire community both immediate and extended participated in this beautiful and monumental event celebrating the lives of two special people as explained by Rabbi Zev Katz.
Mr Adam Bergman shared his parents love and warmth for yiddishkiet and the importance for its continuity. This was tangible by all in attendance.
Due to its location, Chabad of Lincoln Road finds itself servicing both the immediate community and the thousands of tourists that pass by each season. The Gift of this Torah and the unity it brings will be treasured and felt for years to come benefiting people from all over the world.
The celebration included a spectacular children’s event and entertainment for the whole family. After the completion of the Torah the Procession marched down Lincoln Road.
In attendance were some Rabbi Moshe New and Rabbi Zalman Marozov from Montreal and Rabbi Emanuel Carlebach from Quebec, where Adam Bergman grew up.
This was a huge Kiddush Hashem and a first in its history in this location, Rabbi Katz said. It was watched by hundreds of people both Jews and non Jews which made it a very poignant, moving and memorable experience.
