As reported a few weeks ago, a group of Shluchos have joined to help their fellow shluchos to be able attend the annual Kinus convention in New York. The Shluchos would otherwise not be able to attend due to lack of funds.
The initiative, started last year as an email campaign, has grown this year into a full fledged effort to assist shluchos from overseas who cannot afford the airfare. This effort will allow them to join 1800 of their fellow shluchos at the annual Kinus Convention. 30 Shluchos have requested aid in purchasing a ticket, totalling over $30,000.
“The kinus was really important to the Rebbe – so important that the fee for the actual kinus was not allowed to be more than just a symbolic amount, with the Rebbe covering the rest of it,” one Shlucha told COLlive. “Shluchos who come in for the Kinus gain their inspiration for the year – enabling them to return to their communities and serve them with strength, joy and all that it takes to be a shlucha – especially in some of these far flung places!”
So far with the help of other Shluchos and loyal COLlive readers we have raised over $12,000 and unused airline miles helping us purchase tickets for 12 Shluchos. From Australia, Israel, Argentina, and more, all those who give to help these Shluchos have a part in the continued Shlichus efforts in countless communities!
We would love to be able to help more Shluchos join in the kinus this year. We can do that with the help of COLlive readers. You can put a smile on a Shlucha’s face. Any amount is helpful as every dollar adds up!
The group has received requests for tickets that cost $1,000 – $2,000 each. To make any size donation or to sponsor a ticket specifically for this cause please go to ChabadHouseStamford.org and click on donate. Please write “kinus” in the notes. If paypal is easier for you, use this address: morahleah@snet.net, and if you mark it as a personal gift there are no charges.
If you would like to book a ticket for a shlucha using airline miles please email chanie@gis.net or chabadbeijing@gmail.com.
To COLlive and all of the loyal readers THANK YOU from Shluchos worldwide!

need a place to stay!!
If you are a shlucha coming in for chof bais shvat and need a place to stay, there is a really kind shlucha who is working on placing people for the kinus. If you need the info let me know and give me a way to contact you privately.
i also want to come and am looking for a place to stay!!
REally? Why don’t you open up a place and rent it out below cost, since it is such a good idea? Stop projecting your need onto others and get up and do something about it.
finding a place to stay in ch is the hardest
someone should open up a nice place with rooms for outsiders at an affordable price so that we can also be part and enjoy…i really wanted to go for this chof bais shvat but unfortunatly i cant since i couldnt find a place to stay…shame…
it does say miles are helpful too – read the second to last line
people might have mileage points from different visa cards
