Re:Cynicism
December 4, 2011 8:49 pm

It truly boggles my mind. No matter what is being discussed, no matter what is happening or how it is happening, there will always be a few nay sayers that, invariably, seek out the negative. To those for whom this shoe fits, remember what the Alter Rebbe explains in Tanya: Melancholy per se is not a sin, but it certainly results in no good. Cheer up and start appreciating the good that surrounds you. If you can’t see any good in your surroundings, perhaps it’s time to leave your la-la-land and pay us a visit. Ashreinu mah tov chelkeinu!

I think its not just the speeches that help them, its being with people in the same situations and hearing how they handled it. Also just being in the same room as 4,000 people like you is ama

what do you think happens?…
most get replacements! the shluchim being away for one shabbos gives them the strength to carry on with the hard work they do for the rest of the yr….

Rabbi gabi Holtzberg it was on convention time so some Chabad houses are fully operational and some are on auto pilot.

What happen if the Shluchim wouldnt come here and recharge, ask the Shluchim what this convention do to them you feel it in the air! I’m not a Shliach myself but I do anything possible to help out a family member which is, his Chabad house didn’t close for the convention time, his wife is still there but the some help from bochrim so Chabad never closes 24/365 till moshiach comes and most Likly afterward too.

Reality is the dancing and comraderie? Reality is the lavish supper? Reality is all the support chabad has financially for all its chabad houses? Reality is the influence and positive image chabad has in the real world?
U live in a dream world?

"Mushroom effect"
November 29, 2011 10:12 pm

I liked the last guy’s comment: “the mushroom effect around the entire world”….Indeed, many of the most admirable shluchim I know are actually mushrooms!

Wow! How do you carry that chip on your shoulder?!
Shliach or not, we are all chassidim and can all gain inspiration and effect change. That’s what this is about.
Take a good look at your surroundings. It might be you in la la land.

Lord Zalman,
that was very heartwarming and inspiring. Keep up your good work, and may you continue to be blessed in a way where you are able to support 100 times what you do now.
