The bochurim of Hamesivta put their learning into action this past week, when they went to spend a day at the Aleph Institute in New Jersey.
The bochurim put in a full day of work, preparing over 1,000 pounds of food for hundreds of Jewish inmates. From packaging matzahs, macaroons, fish, chicken and grape juice to sealing and labeling boxes, they enthusiastically put all their energy into it.
And although the work was exhausting, the Bochurim left with the satisfying knowledge that hundreds of Yiddin will be able to celebrate their Pesach, thanks to the Hamesivta bochurim.
As one student put it, “I feel connected to the Rebbe and his lesson to us that every Yid, no matter what his situation, matters.”
