A large crowd enjoyed the annual public Menorah lighting followed by a Chanukah Celebration in Tacoma, Washington.
Deputy Mayor of Tacoma Joe Lonergan gave words of greetings on behalf of the Mayor and City Council, and helped light the Shamosh.
The highlight of the evening was the completion and kindling of a five foot solid chocolate Menorah – the “Tallest Chocolate Menorah in The Pacific Northwest.”
The event concluded with a funny comic prop show by Alex Zerbe, a two-time Guinness world record holder.
Rabbi Zalman Heber, Shaliach in Tacoma, Washington said that many children expressed that “this was their best Chanukah party ever.”
