Parliament Member at Preschool

On Thursday, 1st day of Chanuka, Gan Menachem in Hendon was visited by the local Member of Parliament.

Mr. Matthew and Mrs. Claire Offord were welcomed to the Gan by the nursery manager Mrs. Miriam Lieberman and the director Mrs. Dina Toron.

As they entered the Gan, Mrs. Offord was presented with flowers by the children and Rabbi Menachem Junik, Rov of Beis Gavriel and the Gan, presented the MP with a Menorah.

The Offords then visited the four classrooms where they saw first hand the activities of children of various ages and the tremendous work of the staff. While the younger children showed the MP the fun of playing with sand the older children sat down and lit the Menorah and sang Chanuka songs.

Just a few weeks ago, Mr. Offord had visited the Gan on a rainy Sunday to officially open the new playground. Now, on a cold but rainless day, he had a chance to watch the children enjoy the new facilities.

Just before they left, the Offords handed out chocolate Chanuka Gelt to the children and the children presented them with a booklet of cards made especially for them, along with some delicious doughnuts.
