A learning project that began almost at the beginning of the Yeshiva Zman was initiated in the Oholei Torah Mesivta in Crown Heights on Hilchos Pesach from the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch.
A known book with detailed questions written by the Rosh Mesivta, Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm, was used as the base for the testing of the bochurim.
All three members of the Crown Heights Beis Din – Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba, Rabbi Yaacov Schwei and Rabbi Yossi Braun came to test bochurim, but did so at separate times and visits.
The result was that each bochur was presented with no less than 3 certificates signed by each rov, indicating that the controversy over the Beis Din election has not settled just yet.
None of this seemed to faze the bochurim, the tests have shown their knowledge enabling them to celebrate Pesach K’halachah.
19 bochurim were given awards and seforim concluding months of hard work in this learning project.
The boys are Yaakov Greenberg, Schneur Zalman Vechter, Levi Yitzchok Chazan, Levi Y. Cohen, Mendel Cohen, Menachem Mendel Laufer, Yosef Liberow, Meir Eliyahu Liberow, Eliyahu Shimon Landau, Menachem M. Morozow, Chaim MeIzlesh, Menachem Mendel Nairovsky, Levi Yitzchok Naparstek, Yoel Dov Spinner, Yechi Ezagui, Menachem Mendel Kagan, Sholom Kirsh, Shmaya Krinsky and Menachem Mendel Schmukler.
obviously that wasnt the reason bcs rabbi schwei and rabbi Yossef (not Yossi) have no problem being together Im sure it was arranged that way for dif purposes.
Yoel Dov is the best!!!!!!!
the bochurim have a lot of wall space to hang three
certificates for the same test.
where did the idea of testing bochurim by rabbis come from?
someone from tzfat
Dan es haudam bekaf zechus!!!
Maybe they came separately because these Rabbonim are VERY busy People, and the mesivta wanted that it should be a very Through test, and if each rov only has one Hour that they can use to test, why put all three together and only have a hour test, just put them separately and have three hours of testing instead of one.
thnx
Nice program anyway
Go Mendy Kagan!!!!!!
We are so so so proud of you and love you so much!
Keep up all the awesome learning!
The reason they came seperately is because its not normal to have 3 Rabbanim testing the kids at once, rather they divided the quota into 3 and each one tests from their quota.
Now, the reason there was 3 certificates does not have to do with the Rabbanim themselves, (if they agreed or not) rather the R.Y. did so, because of “Ho-il” (from the loshon of Gemara). But I could bet for money they would all agree to sign the same certificate.
shame on the rabbonim
The test is that they should be unified.
What message are these “Rabbis” giving these young boys? Learn Hilchos Pesach but don’t worry about Ahavas Yisroel and Achdus.
lolollolololololololololololol, thats all there is to say 🙂
A real nice example for the bochrim. SHAMEFUL
but no show till they work all together.
mesivta is always politically correct.
Mendy Kagan, we are so proud of you! You are a source of much nachas for the entire family.
Rabbis Come to Test – Separately. . .
the miracle will be when they come together!
