One of your most important goals as a parent is to raise children who become independent and self-reliant people.
Certainly, in early development, your children count on you. As infants, they rely on you for nourishment, cleaning, and mobility. As your children grow, they become more independent in these basic areas of living, but still depend on you for love, protection, guidance, and support.
Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Rietti gives a fascinating presentation of how to give our kids a perfect balance.
Rietti is the director of Machon Daas U’sevuna where he has taught, mentored, and guided thousands of mechanchim and mechanchos. He has studied the Jewish educational scene for decades, carefully analyzed the problems and issues faced by schools and students and has single handedly began to change the way things are done.
This lecture was given at last summer’s Chinuch conferences of the Merkos Chinuch Office, directed by Rabbi Nochum Kaplan.
It is presented here as part 5 of the Chinuch series by the Chinuch Office and COLlive.com.
CAPD and Lamplighters Yeshivah will be conducting their second summer of training in Jewish Montessori this summer. Multiple programs avail. Call 718.355.9138 for more information.
oh if only we could train ourselves to implement this model.what happy students we would have..and how much easier our job would become..
Absolutely awesome!! LK
Can you make it accessible to an iPhone user? Thanks
There is an amazing Rietti based school in Los Angeles called ”Darko” (DarkoLA.org is their website). My son goes there and he is doing amazing. He never allows himself to miss even a single day of school even on a day when he has a bad cold. He loves school and loves to learn.
Thank you Rabbi Rietti for dedicating so much of your time to creating the most amazing Judaic montesory learning materials.
