A historic celebration took place in Bryansk, Russia this week, with the opening of a new state-of-the-art Mikvah.
The event took place with the participation of hundreds of Jews from the city and prominent guests from Moscow, headed by Chief Rabbi of Russia Rabbi Berel Lazar.
The recently completed Mikvah represents the first phase of a major expansion project for Chabad in the city, led by Shluchim Rabbi Mendy and Rivky Zaklos, which will also include a Shul, nursery school and other buildings.
The building was opened with a grand ribbon cutting ceremony attended by community members and sponsors. In attendance were Chief Rabbi of Smolensk, Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Mondschein and his family, and many governement representatives and leaders of nearby Jewish communities.
