136,071 people signed a petition for his release, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat is giving him the Jerusalem Freedom Award, both Israeli and U.S. government officials are supporting him and now there’s even a theme song.
Israeli artist Beni Elbaz and Canadian musician Naftali Kalfa chimed in on the calls for President Barack Obama to release Jonathan Pollard, the U.S. analyst serving a life sentence for spying for Israel.
“Ahead of President Obama’s visit to Israel we decided, Elbaz and myself, to unite voices in a call for justice for Jonathan,” Kalfa told Israel National News.
“The message is – “Free Jonathan Pollard Now!” – we all know how disproportionate and unfair his prison sentence is. If he is not released now, then when?”

But the award winning Jewish journalist Jonathan S. Tobin, who edits the online version of the conservative Commentary magazine, says all this attention might backfire.
“At this point, it’s hard to imagine any circumstance in the immediate future that will lead Obama or his successor to free Pollard,” he wrote in a column titled “The Truth About Pollard.”
“Had the issue been framed solely on the concept that Pollard was a misguided soul who erred but deserved mercy, he probably would have been out of jail a long time ago.
“But the attempt to cast him as an American “prisoner of Zion” merely strengthened the hands of those U.S. officials who have always been the roadblock to clemency,” Tobin said.
Americans are tired of the overused accusation of antisemitism! In fact it has come to mean anything Jews just don’t like! You can thank hypocrite Abe Foxman’s over played hand! He is a criminal and should remain in jail! Not a hero!
That is exactly the point. when america caught a spy for Russia during the cold war, all he got was 10 years. Here he past on information to a country that is supposed to be a friend. How bad could that be? This isnt justice. Its blatant anti semitism.
Guys take it easy way to aggressive ur contradicting ur selfs u want to tell him something there are nicer ways to to say it then ” your nasty!” “What’s ur problem?!” (Besides #4 has got a point)
everyone else that doesn’t have to say some positive than be quiet rude and nasty ppl here its quite sad
its really nice that they did something, so that we shouldnt all forget him sitting in jal all these years
if u have nothign nice to say then dont say anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, youre nasty. What is your problem? Dont you think all your “brilliant” ideas have been tried by people alot more intelligent than you?
These singers are giving their valuable time to try and raise public awareness of the cause. What have you done lately to help??
There are those who take action…and those who criticize…
That is really rude.. you know they try hard.. how about you try making a better song. and if you have nothing good to say don’t say it.
Naftali is an incredible musician!!! What a great song. The next Jewish superstar !
what kind of song is this?
if someone is guilty then he is guilty just imagine he was a spy for the arebs
Lets make a big noise
its a nice video, but why should it convince Obama “do the right thing now”?
Is a good idea badly executed.
Instead of coming off with a reckless and arrogant demeanor of “DO SO AND SO CUZ DATZ WAT MY HIP BUDDY TOLD ME IS DA RITE THING” convey a message of a plea with reason and sympathetic value, justifiably demanding…
But one thing I gotta give them, the song has a good and catchy chorus.
Nice song!
My heart is with all you guys for pollard!!
How can people do this? I can’t make a kid sit forced on a chair for more than a min, and 27 years IN PRISION!!!
AGREE WITH #2!!… KOL HAKAVOd
….they work soo hard, and you doubt their efforts, where is you’re trust in Hashem??
but doubt it will help
