Thanks to the efforts of local Shluchim and Zalman Friedman, director at RabbiFriedman.org, a record turnout of Floridians were treated to Rabbi Manis Friedman’s unique combination of wit and wisdom, insight and clarity during his recent visit.
Commented one satisfied participant at Rabbi Friedman’s first shabbaton event at Chabad of Weston, “You have speakers, and then there is Rabbi Friedman.”
Rabbi Yisroel Spalter of Chabad of Weston, reports rave reviews from all attendees. “Friday night we had a large turnout of about 120 people, and even more during Shabbos day. Over the whole weekend we hosted about 300 people. It was very successful. One person told me it was the best Shabbos they’ve ever had.”
During the week, he spoke at Chabad of Aventura, Directed by Rabbi Laivi Forta) to a standing-room only crowd, about 500 people, who came away with an inspiring new perspective on life.
Putting the focus on young adults, the next day Rabbi Friedman spoke at Kspace Miami, in Sunny Isles, directed by Rabbi Yossi Smierc , a happening venue for young Jews ages 18-30. The discussion, attended by more than 150 of their very interested singles, centered on what it takes to get and stay successfully married.
Rabbi Scheiner’s Palm Beach Synagogue hosted the next Shabbos event. Rabbi Friedman made good use of the time, speaking in several sessions over many hours for community members of all ages. After the kiddush, more than 40 women joined in the afternoon women’s class. Says Rabbi Scheiner, “It’s been a long time since Rabbi Friedman has spoken here. I remember now how really good he is.”
Rabbi Friedman’s trip to Florida has ended, but he’ll be back soon for the Bais Chana “Snorkel and Study” Program in January 2-9 and for the Emanuel Storfer “Week of Learning for College Students” on December 28-31 .
