Mrs. Henya Chasha Schusterman, a long-time resident of Crown Heights who raised a respected Lubavitch family, has passed away Wednesday, Iyar 7 5771.
She was 90.
Her husband was Rabbi Mottel Schusterman, the Rebbe‘s baal koreh in 770 Eastern Parkway. He passed away in 1995.
Mrs. Schusterman was described as “a yiras shamayim and a smart, happy and loving woman who had many life lessons which she shared with all.”
“She was always devoted to her family and her grandchildren loved her dearly,” a grandson told COLlive.com.
Her children: Mrs. Laya Klein – Crown Heights, Mrs. Miriam Nemenov – Crown Heights; R’ Gershon Schusterman – Los Angeles, CA; Mrs. Faigy Wolf – Nachlas Har Chabad, Israel; Mrs. Nechama Greisman OBM – Jerusalem, and Mrs. Zysel Gurevitz – Crown Heights.
She is survived by her children, grandchidren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The funeral will take place tomorrow, Thursday, leaving Shomrei Hadas at 10:00 AM and passing by 770 Eastern Parkway at 10:30 AM.
The family will be sitting shiva at 465 Empire Blvd. Brooklyn, NY.

Baruch Din Ha Emes I remember her many many years ago 1974-75,, erev pesach schleping on Presisdent street, carrots from raskins. she was using a little red child’s wagon to schelp those carrots which were encrusted with dirt. that’s the way she would have it-everything in their natural state as she herself would do all the preparing from scratch to be sure that there wasn’t any inkling of chometz left behind.
