A new book highlighting “sixty prominent personalities” in the global Jewish community, features chapters on Chabad thinkers Adin Steinsaltz and Chaim Miller.
The new volume, released this January, is a selection of the most “excellent, exhilarating and educational” of the feature interviews carried out over a period of six years by Jewish Press writer Elliot Resnick. Other figures included in the “Big Sixty” are: Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbi of England, MK Danny Danon, Ambassador Yehuda Avner and Professor Alan Dershowitz.
Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, featured as the first interview, was chosen due to his monumental work on clarifying the entire Talmud, a series which is now coming to light in English translation through Koren Publishers.
Rabbi Chaim Miller, best known for creating the Gutnick Chumash, is highlighted as one of the Sixty “Shakers” due to his groundbreaking work on explaining Rambam’s Thirteen Principles of Faitha ccording to the teachings of Chassidus. Miller’s passion is that Chabad should be known not only for its incredible outreach work, but also for its incredible ideas.
WABC Radio host Aaaron Klein described the new book as “A fascinating, surprising journey.” The volume also bears recommendations from YU Rosh Yeshivah Rabbi Hershel Schachter and historian Rabbi Berel Wein.
