It was not the lint or the vent that caused the fire, it was the drummer of the dryer that broke causing the spinner to stop, it then got overheated and caught fire.

The young couple living down stairs have been married for all of 5 months and have now been left homeless with major damages to all their property from the fire, the water and of course smoke. Both their parents are shluchim and live very far and in another country. Yes, they got out alive BH but, they are left with not very much. beds, linen, furniture, clothes, household stuff all got ruined.
