Even bad things come to an end…
A string of burglaries targeting Jewish homes in the midst of the Shabbos day of rest has come to a stop, while the police search for a suspect.
4 houses were robbed on Friday nights in the last few weeks, with candelabras, menorahs, Kiddush cups and other silverware stolen.
According to an official at the NYPD 71st Precinct, the burglar used a car jack to pry open the bars on the windows and then broke into the homes.
Some of the homes were empty while the owners were on vacation, while in some the residents were home asleep, they said.
“We made some arrests in local burglaries,” says 71st Commander Deputy Inspector John Lewis, noting that there were no reports of burglaries in the last 2 Shabbosim.
One individual, known to the police as a career criminal, is awaiting trial, but Lewis says he is not the man who broke into the homes.
Instead, they have a photo of a man that was caught on surveillance video in the vicinity of one of the break-ins.
“We are working very closely with our friends in the community to try and catch this person,” he said.
he stole my ipod!!
Bauruch Hashem they identified the burgulur!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to all those who have lead to his arrest. Let’s pray that these things don’t repeat themselves!
They can only be a career criminal if you let them get back to work!! Like a nice Jewish boy named Jerry Seinfeld says, “why didn’t they just arrest the guy when they were taking his picture?… That’s what the side profile picture is. .. That’s when he’s running away!..
lock him up for many years. what an evil evil man.
lock him up and throw away the key
