There’s never been such inner-office excitement as the day KitchenDaily’s editors decided to conduct a hummus taste test. We’re big fans of the creamy, savory dip, and we couldn’t wait to find out which brand is the best of the bunch.
Hummus, which is the Arabic word for chickpea, is described as being a ubiquitous paste of chickpea and tahini (sesame paste) with garlic and lemon. It’s made by a seemingly endless number of brands across the country, but we got our hands on the classics that were most widely available to us.
Our test was conducted completely independent of the brands (we promise, we’re not sneaking in advertisements!). We did a blind taste test, sticking to original flavors only.
Each hummus was given an overall score between 0 and 5, and then given an average approval rating between 0 and 100 percent. Find out which brand won the challenge!

(COLlive note: Kashrus to each of the products should be checked)
WOW such breaking news!!! Never will I be lost in the chummus isle again!!
Sincerely,
Pita.

Sabra is 51% owned by Strauss (an Israeli Company), 49% owned by Pepsi Co. (which is in charge of distribution in the U.S.)
By far the best smooth and creamy. Sabras is lumpy never liked it
Americans have no clue what they are doing… Stick to apple pie and burgers, leave the chumus to the pros. Miki is amazing no question.
Sabra definitely makes the best hummus by far
I think it’s so cute that Sabra’s label says “New! Gluten free!” Did it ever have gluten in it? lol I love their hummus.
sonny n joes is made by the haimishe firm Flaum’s. It probably wasn’t rated because Flaum’s is under fire by the looney left for supposed labor relations problems.
funny thing is, Sabra is neither an Israeli company nor is it made in Israel, it IS and always was an american owned and operated company, so its hard to understand why people keep on referring to them as Israeli..
Achla chumus
Sabra’s Greek Olive is #1
the miki one with the purple lid (or pomegrante of course)
the best one is sonny n joes [in particular garlic addiction]
